Kaduna State will build a 30 MW solar power plant
The development of a 30 MW solar photovoltaic power plant is expected to begin next year and will generate sufficient electricity to supply households, including customers of major local utility suppliers.
The energy generated is expected to be sold to the local company Kaduna Power Supply Company, which is responsible for distribution. The new contract complements the South African company's portfolio, which has invested heavily in the African continent. In addition to Nigeria, it is preparing to provide a total of 300 megawatts of electricity in several states.
The founder of DLO Energy said, “We are very pleased to work with our partners and the Kaduna State Government on this project. This is a great opportunity to provide electricity to Kaduna. This transaction is Africa’s solution to Africa’s problems. An example, and more importantly, it provides a real opportunity for cooperation between South Africa and Nigeria."
