US Energy Information Administration predicts installed capacity in 2019
Utilities-scale capacity growth is mainly due to wind energy (46%), natural gas (34%), solar photovoltaic (18%), and about 2% renewable energy and energy storage.
The increase in large ground power plants is mainly from the three states of Texas, California and North Carolina. In addition to ground power plants, industrial and commercial PV is also an important component.
According to EIA's short-term energy outlook, it is expected that by the end of 2019, 3.9 GW of small-scale solar photovoltaic power generation capacity and 4.3 GW of large-scale ground power generation capacity will be added.
