Duke Energy Completes Florida Project Device Has Started Operation

the Internet 2019-01-12 08:41:14

Recently, Duke Energy has built a new 74.9 MW Hamilton solar power plant project in Jasper, Florida, and the new unit is now operational.

The energy generated by the project will be able to power more than 20,000 homes at peak production. The device is part of Duke Energy's strategic commitment to install 700 megawatts of solar energy in Florida by 2022.

DEF currently owns and operates nearly 100 megawatts of solar energy in its regulated service area. The construction of the project began in July 2018 and was launched on December 22, 2018.

With Jasper's 74.9MW project, DEF announced plans to begin work at the Columbia Solar Power Plant in Fort White, Florida, in 2019. Although it will be developed by CoreSolar, DEF will own, operate and maintain the 74.9MW project. The Colombia project will be completed in March 2020.

The president of Duke Energy, Florida, said, “The Duke Energy Solar Project provides customers with the largest amount of renewable energy in the most efficient and cost-effective way. Building a solar power plant like Hamilton is part of our ongoing sustainability strategy. Our customers tell us about the smarter energy solutions they value."
