Australia rooftop PV will face 30 percent cuts

Randy 2014-09-12 16:41:40
Australia recently announced review of the recommendations of the renewable energy target (RET) estimates will enable the country's rooftop solar industry decreased by 30%. Insiders said that this will lead to the loss of more than 8000 solar jobs and the closure of many small businesses, depriving families and businesses' opportunity to produce their own clean, renewable energy. The only winners are those dirty, old coal-fired power plants.

The views advocated the immediate cancellation or rapid closure of small-scale renewable energy scheme (SRES), which is to say fund rooftop PV through certificates. Instigator who come from petroleum and geothermal power generation industry admit that  rooftop PV will drop immediately, recover within five years.

To make matters worse, the review comments  of RET does not advocated the immediate abolition of SRES, but will scale from 100 kilowatts to 10 kilowatts. This will seriously affect the commercial rooftop fields.

Australia Solar Energy Society report adjusted for its counterattack plan. CEO John Grimes said to PV magazine that the Prime Minister and the government completely ignoring the Australian people. Polls show that 90 percent of Australians support solar energy, 75% think that renewable energy target should be maintained or increased.
